We received and generate a lot of intel data concerning suspicious persons, Members with Protection Orders, etc. We are considering rolling our own Database application that would memorialize this data so that members of our security team can access the data easily.
So my question is what types of applications are other churches using to store this type of data.
First of all, I apologize for the extremely late response. This is not a topic that I have a lot of information on but it deserves an answer, later or not.
I (we) are not aware of a specific program that collects data such as you have suggested. As far as I know, there are no such programs that the churches I know use. It seems as though there isn’t much sharing going on although I believe there is something similar going on down in Colorado Springs and it is possible that Carl Chinn and his organization manage that.
FSN is currently working on how to disseminate information to members when criminal activities or perhaps even suspicious activities at houses of worship occur. We have to be careful about what we publish and make sure that we aren’t irresponsibly damaging a particular person’s reputation.
This is a good idea and law enforcement agencies do have databases like this that they share with other law enforcement agencies. Because we are not law enforcement, we don’t have access to everything they might have.
We appreciate your post and hope that something can rise up from this.
